In 1997, I attended the graduation ceremony for Wellesley College where Oprah delivered the commencement address. Her speech was pivotal for me because it was then and there that I realized I needed to complete MY degree. So I quit my job as a nanny, and headed back to college. During this speech, she said, “Create the highest, grandest vision possible for your life because you become what you believe.” She moved mountains with her words so onward I went changing the course of my life.

Class of 2021, I’m not going to go on about all the things you’ve missed out on this past year—too many to list. I’m a big believer of focusing on the positive and the “big picture”, and that would be your futures. Futures full of love, fun and success because I’ll take a line from Oprah and tell you that this is heading your way. Your lives will be filled with greatness because of the strength you have shown during these trying times. Now’s the time to celebrate all that was, and all that we be. Congrats!
